Very pleasantly surprised at how good this is. The screw ring to tighten it is far better than the old small brass screw rings that you get in the old traditional Combination Squares. There is room for quality improvement though that would not cost BG anything material wise. The slot that the ruler sits in is too wide by about 0.33 mm and is therefore a bit of a sloppy fit in the black handle.
The lip that holds the ruler in is only 1.5 mm wide and it fits in a 2.4 mm groove on the ruler, again sloppy and room for improvement. The actual fit of the Brass holding post into the ruler is pretty good though. The square groove is better than the traditional half circle grooves that the older more traditional combination squares have.
So to be completely honest it is not a bad combination square but it could be better finished with just a little more effort and care from the manufacturer. That is why I only give it 4 stars instead of 5. It could be superb with a little more care. The other thing that surprises is that the markings are only in Metric which is fine by me even being British but there are an awful lot of Yankees out there who work in imperial. It is simple enough to implement, either Metric one side, Imperial the other or Metric one edge and imperial the other so you have both on the same side of the ruler.
Packing was very good in a cardboard box with a flip lid.

the product its very well crafted, the main ruler is steel so it will last without issues, the angle body is made of hard aluminium carved _rom a single piece, it is also very durable and strong, finally the holder is entirely made of tin so it will not damage the other components.

the ruler is 30cm long withe the numbers carved and painted in black, it comes marked both sides in the same direction so you can switch sides and measure from the opposite direction.

the holder of the mechanism allows to switch the side of the holder also so you can have the 45° angle pointing the opposite direction and you can ofcourse can detach the ruler to use it as a traditional one.

in general terms great quality.
