This is my 4th SDR device. It works about as well as the others. It consists of an RTL-SDR circuit and an upconverter, in a metal box to shield the electronics from interference. It came with a magnetic-mount antenna and a USB cable. This is not a complete receiver by itself (none of the inexpensive RTL-SDR devices available are), it needs to be used with software in order to work. This is not a defect, it is how SDR (Software Defined Radio) devices work. There is a link to instructions and driver software on the product description page for this item—you need to click that link. I have both a Windows 10 laptop and a Linux Mint netbook and have tried this unit with both of them.
Nice UV working device out of the box! BUT HF did not work until I open the case and soldered the missing vias between the interna RTL-DVB-T stick and the mainboard. Now after soldering both antenna ranges are working UV and HF. Nice product for a good price but little solderskills are needed!
